Details
Join Copper Country Trout Unlimited for a workday on the Pilgrim River to help cut and propagate riparian vegetation.
Wear sturdy shoes or muck boots and dress for the weather. Snacks and drinks will be provided as well as supplies but feel free to bring work gloves and a lopper if you have them.
The cuttings will sit in buckets of river water at the site for the next couple of weeks to develop roots. We will schedule a planting day 2-3 weeks later depending on propagation progress.
This event is family-friendly and all are welcome.
This is part of a larger restoration project to improve aquatic habitat in the Pilgrim River that was impacted by flood events and invasive Reed Canary grass. Establishing these riparian vegetation species can stabilize riverbanks, reduce erosion, and provide habitat for fish and other aquatic organisms.
