VIEW THE PANEL BIOS AND PRESENTATION DESCRIPTIONS
There's something incredibly special about the waters of the Driftless region, and it isn't the density or quality of trout finning in the currents or the streamside grasses waving in the breeze.
What truly makes the Driftless special is the army of scientists, restoration specialist and nonprofit and agency partners working to study, care for and recover these fabled streams.
Join Trout Unlimited's Driftless Area Restoration Effort (TU DARE) staff and volunteers for an important two day virtual symposium on February 23 and March 3 featuring some of the most powerful and important voices in the partnership we have built to conduct this work.
Each day will feature nine experts speaking for 20 minutes on their area of focus and taking your question and will include a lunch break of one hour.
The Day 1 Lineup is:
10:00 - Climate change, extreme seasonal weather, and trout populations in Wisconsin streams
Bryan Maitland
10:30 - A Roving Creel Survey of Selected Trout Stream in Southeast Minnesota - 2020/2021
Vaughn Snook
11:00 - West Indian Creek Stream Habitat Improvement Project 2020-2021
Luke Lunde
11:30 - Chase Creek Brook Trout Establishment
Bradd Sims
12:00 - Lunch Break
1:30 - Lessons from Manager Interviews about Restoration Practices
Emma Lundberg
2:00 - Recovery of a headwater fish community after a "complete" fish kill in Garvin Brook
Neal Mundahl/Avery Schnaser
2:30 - South Pine Brook Trout Propagation Efforts
Dan Rosauer
3:00 - Grass vs. Trees: Competing Perspectives about Restoring Riparian Areas in the Kickapoo Watershed
Eric Booth
3:30 - Closing Remarks
Jeff Hastings - TU Driftless Area Restoration Effort
*Note: All sessions will run concurrently on the same Zoom link and are Central time.
