In TU's prior experience with other federally declared disasters, particularly the flood response after Tropical Storm Irene in the Northeast, there has been limited understanding of the options available to local governments under FEMA’s funding programs. A common misconception is that culverts must be replaced with the exact same type of culvert that previously existed, even if that culvert was undersized and vulnerable to failure during high flows.

Join this webinar to learn from TU staff about FEMA programs so you are equipped to assist your local government partners with rebuilding efforts. This information will be most useful to those of you who a) have an appetite for diving into arcane federal programs, and b) have relationships with municipal and county governments who will be seeking federal rebuilding funds.

If you check those boxes and you’re interested in diving into FEMA programs, please join us on October 30 at 8:00 p.m. on Zoom.  Feel free to share the invitation with others who you think would be interested.
