PRESENTATION: John Jackson, PhD - "The Trouble With Road Salt"

The unintended consequences of spreading Road Salt in the winter is becoming a major environmental and economic issue across the US. John Jackson has uncovered data on how road salt is impacting our streams, rivers, aquifers, drinking water and the entire freshwater ecosystems that support the macroinvertebrates/trout that we love to catch. Join us for a look into the problems with wide spread use of salt and more importantly, what we can do to reduce the risks/damage with salt use.

John Jackson is a Senior Research Scientist at Stroud Water Research Center, a Professor of Biology at University of Pennsylvania, and Professor of Entomology/Wildlife Ecology at University of Delaware.
