PSWOTF - Women's Beginner's Clinic - Nymphing (Classroom Based)
Details
Clinics 1 and 2 of our Beginner's Clinic series earlier this year focused on fishing dry flies that sit on the surface. This clinic will focus on fishing subsurface nymphs, a technique that will increase your catch rate on your fly fishing journey. While this clinic builds upon knowledge that was taught in Clinic 1 and 2, you don't need to have taken it to participate in this class, as long as you know the following information:
- Knowledge about tippet and leader sizes
- How to tie a double surgeons and clinch knot
We'll be going over choosing nymphs, setting up a rig (types of set-ups like in-line, tag, hopper dropper), gauging depth of water and how that impacts how you set up your rig, reading water, etc. We plan to hold this class Watershed Science Center in Issaquah WA. No rod and reel or waders and boots necessary.
After class is over, we'll head to Formula Brewing for lunch/social time.
Things to bring:
- Snacks, water/beverage
- Scissors or nippers
- Nymphs (any nymph will do!)
- Optional - old leader, tippet (3X or 4X). We will also be providing tippet for practice and will have some nymphs to borrow.
