Paul H Young TU will hold its annual Spring Wa Wa Sum Spring Restoration Weekend this year on May 30th – June 1st. Our getaway weekend has been a great way to meet other members, participate in a conservation activity on Saturday morning, and hear a speaker on Saturday afternoon. Aside from all that? Fishing. Arrive on Friday and go fishing. Leave Sunday before noon and go fishing one last time before heading home.
On Saturday, we will be building a gear washing station next to the front door. That project will be going on between scheduled activities. The morning starts with breakfast and then onto the spring bug survey, helping out Bob Thorsen. He has been building a solid database on four sites on the Manistee River. Chef Thorsen also provides a grilled lunch for your efforts. Then at 2:30 back at Camp Wa Wa Sum, our hope is to have a speaker from the Little Traverse Band of the Ottawa Nation to describe their view of the Grayling re-introduction. Their speakers are in great demand, so fingers crossed. Saturday night begins with dinner and then...fishing!

As usual, all guests will be expected to bring their own towels and linens/sleeping bags. Meals are included starting Saturday morning, through Sunday breakfast. The cost is $125 per person.
Mark your calendars and buy your tickets now. Use the buddy system and get a group of friends together. They do not have to be TU members! Camp Wa Wa Sum is a great venue, a historical throwback, and very well located. And then there is the relaxing screened-in back porch overlooking the Holy Waters….
