OMTU Chapter Meeting
Jim Parks author of “Tails of the Smokies” will present:
Successful Strategies for Fly Fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Fly fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is very different from fishing tailwaters, thus being successful in one location does not equal success in the other. Jim will explain what he views as the differences and how the challenges of regularly catching wild trout in the Smokies can be simplified with the processes he has learned and developed in his 44 years of fly fishing in the GSMNP. In his presentation, he will share his experiences and the strategies he uses to find, approach, and hook up with the wild trout in the Smokies. Jim is also a regular contributor to Costal Angler Magazine. You can find articles and the flies he uses on his Instagram page at TailsOfTheSmokies.
Dinner begins at 6:00PM. Announcements begin at 6:30PM and the program will immediately follow.
