Oak Hill Park Tree Planting - Volunteers Needed!
Details
Help Canoe Creek and the greater Morganton area recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene by volunteering for a native tree planting volunteer event. Our friends at the Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina have allowed us the opportunity to come replant one of their properties with 250 Native Riparian trees. Meet us at Oak Hill Park (820 NC-126 Morganton, NC 27655) on November 7th, 2026 at 9:00 AM!
This volunteer event, co-sponsored by Trout Unlimited, is made possible thanks to support from Advocate Health and the Arbor Day Foundation.
Trout Unlimited has planted and distributed more than 15,000 trees in areas impacted by Hurricane Helene since 2025. The Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Tree Recovery program aims to replace trees in communities affected by natural disasters throughout the United States. The program has helped distribute more than 5.3 million trees since its inception in 2005. Working with Trout Unlimited, the planting will help restore streambanks damaged by flooding, reduce erosion and enhance habitat for local wildlife.
