November Membership Gathering Featuring Jon Vander Werff

Join RITU for the November meeting at the Elk's lodge, where Jon Vander Werff will join us for a social hour and educational presentation. Jon is the Connecticut Project Manager on dam removals and stream restoration practitioner for Trout Unlimited National. Jon has an extensive background in the ecological monitoring of river restoration projects, including the facilitation of the associated stakeholder engagement and education that coincides with successful projects. Throughout his career, Jon has effectively seen multiple projects of comparable magnitude, to fruition. Including the removal of dams, construction of a fishway and culvert right sizing projects. He has also enacted research which acted as a foundational document to foster the first Rhode Island State Brook Trout Preserve, the Beaver River.
