VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Join us on Saturday, October 24 to plant a healthy riparian buffer of native trees and shrubs along the Norwalk River!

Volunteers from the Mianus Chapter and partners have been hard at work removing non-native species in preparation for this riparian restoration project to replant hardwood trees and shrubs along the Norwalk River at Schenck's Island Park.

These native trees and shrubs will add some much needed biodiversity, create important habitat as well as filter and reduce stormwater runoff into the Norwalk River! This riparian planting project will complement our major thermal refuge enhancement project completed back in 2019.

No special experience necessary! Mianus Chapter tree planting events are fun for the whole family - we'll even provide all the tools and equipment you need. Join us on Saturday, October 24 to do some good for our community and the Norwalk River.
