Come cool off in the Norwalk River and help us build trout habitat! The low flow period of summer is a perfect time to get your feet wet and build happy homes for trout at Merwin Meadows Park in Wilton. Over the years, volunteers from the Mianus Chapter have transformed this stretch of river constructing nearly a dozen pool and riffle structures that help wild and native trout get through the hottest summer months.
This type of event is fun for the whole family! All you need is a good pair of boots, gloves, and plenty of water! We will provide some small hand tools like crow bars to help wrench out the more stubborn of rocks. All of these structures are designed and permitted, we just need your help to make it happen!
