Nothing beats standing in a river building trout habitat on a hot summer's day! Come help Mianus TU construct pool and riffle structures at Merwin Meadows Park on the Norwalk River. Over the years, TU volunteers have totally transformed this stretch of river through the park by hand - one rock at a time! Creating trout habitat is a fun and rewarding experience for volunteers of all ages! Its always fun to come back and see fish utilizing a stretch of river you helped restore!

All you need are boots or waders, a pair of gloves, and plenty of water! We will provide some tools like small pry bars for moving larger rocks. All the structures will be designed and laid out, we just need your help filling them in!
