Details

Join us on October 15th @ 7pm for a virtual training that covers Trout Unlimited’s smart phone based ‘Redd Survey App using GIS technology to help monitor and improve opportunities to support wild and native trout and salmon across streams and rivers of all sizes across the Northeast! This training will be hosted by Trout Unlimited Conservation staff members from New York and Connecticut. All are welcome!

This invitation is for all TU members, from all TU chapters who are interested in learning more about ways to help advocate for wild fish. In Connecticut, we are eager to dive back into a second year of a statewide spawning surveys that were conducted with Connecticut's DEEP and TU volunteers on the Farmington, Housatonic, Long Island Sound, Saugatuck, Shetuckit, and many more. In New York, we will be looking to tap into our network of local angling volunteers to help collect data on the mainstems and tributaries of the Upper Delaware, Nissequogue, Wiscoy, Esopus, Saranac, and more.

Got a local wild trout stream that you think needs better protection or management? You will want to get familiar with TU's Redd Survey app to help document the conditions you've found. Participating in a TU spawning survey allows the type of data collection that helps verify unique populations and habitat conditions where wild and native trout need your protection and support!
