Come lend a hand in support of native brook trout in northeast TN. Volunteers are needed to assist in the removal of a small rock dam on Right Prong Rock Creek in Unicoi County, TN. Removal of this dam will help ensure non-native rainbow trout cannot move into a section of stream undergoing native brook trout repatriation.
Participants will meet at the entrance to Rock Creek Recreation Area on Saturday, September 11th, 2021 8:30 - 9:00 am. We will head up to the project site promptly at 9:00 am. The only items volunteers need to bring are wading gear and work gloves.
All volunteers will be treated to hot dogs, chips and drinks at Rock Creek Recreation Area immediately following the work day. Feel free to bring a rod with you to try your luck.
