The Mountaineer Chapter and our partners at the US Forest Service are seeking volunteers to help plant bare root trees along decommissioned roads in the Vance Run/Little Low Place area of the Monongahela National Forest.
The site location is between Bartow and Circleville, WV primarily along Forest Road 60. The meeting point will be at the intersection of WV 28 and Forest Road 106 which shows as Thornwood, WV. The coordinates are (38.5968392, -79.6465659). We will be meeting at this location and volunteers will be directed to the site from there.

We will have gloves and tools for volunteers, but please bring your own if you have them. Hiking boots are a must and we will be planting a mixture of areas - some with easier access and some that will be a bit more of an adventure for volunteers to choose what they’d like to attempt!
The event will run from 11 AM to 5 PM with a pulled pork and pulled chicken lunch provided.
Island Campground is close by for those looking to make a weekend of it and stay the night after the event.
