Mill River Restoration Ribbon Cutting & Tour
Details
Phase 1 of our Mill River Restoration Project is now complete! To celebrate, we're inviting you to see the newly constructed pools, riffles spawning areas and other exciting trout habitat just installed in the past few weeks. We're excited to see this section of river come to life after years of planning and with your support and contributions!
Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony and stream walk on Saturday September 26th at 11:00 am - we'll be getting started at the Covenant Church parking lot located at 1 Sport Hill Road in Easton. Bring your families and your fishing rods - we’ll have a few fly rods on hand for demonstrations as well.
This nearly half-mile stretch of river along Congress Street in Easton and Fairfield has been totally transformed by this amazing project. You will see eight new/enhanced pools, boulders, riffles and improved spawning habitat. We can't wait to show you the impact you've helped make possible!
Six Nutmeg Trout Unlimited board members have generously pledged to match all donations up to $4,500 to support these efforts.
Whether you give $25, $100, or more, your tax-deductible contribution will be doubled by these donors and help our chapter grow the conservation, education, fishing, community and other programs you care about.
Whether you donate online, or mail a check payable to Nutmeg Chapter Trout Unlimited, P.O. Box 1594, Fairfield, CT. 06825, your gift will be doubled and your support will ensure our shared work to care for and recover our area's streams continues for years to come.
Thank you for standing with us to protect the waters we love.
