
Macroinvertebrate Sampling at Townsend Park
With picnic areas and shelters spread among wooded hills along the Bear Creek valley, Townsend Park is a scenic and easy to reach destination for Grand Rapids area visitors. In the park’s north section, a hiking trail winds through a large pine plantation. The Cannon Township Trail also links to the park from the north, featuring a boardwalk over natural wetlands.
What to Wear: Please dress for the weather! Rubber boots or shoes that can get wet are recommended.
What to Bring: Please bring bottled water and personal outdoor items such as insect repellent, sunscreen.
Weather: Projects are not canceled for light rain, but they may be delayed or canceled for heavy rain or weather advisories. We will always try and contact you 24 hours in advance if we notice bad weather coming.
