Lower Sac River Cleanup with Shasta-Trinity-Cascades TU
Details
The Trout Unlimited Shasta-Trinity-Cascade Chapter invites our community to roll up their sleeves and help care for our Sacramento River. Join us on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 8:00am to 12:00pm for our Annual Sacramento River Cleanup.
We’ll meet at 8:00am at the Turtle Bay/Posse Grounds Boat Ramp, where volunteers will divide into two groups: one group heading out on the water by boat and another on foot to clean up popular access points along the Sacramento River in Redding. Heavy-duty garbage bags will be provided, and a large dumpster will be set up at the Bonnyview Boat Ramp for all collected trash.
Boaters: If you have a drift boat, raft, small jet boat, or even a stand-up paddleboard, please arrive 30 minutes early to launch and help coordinate shuttles to Bonnyview Boat Ramp. There will likely be space available for volunteers without a vessel to hop into one of the boats. Everyone on the water must have an approved life jacket.
On-Foot Volunteers: We’ll coordinate teams to walk and clean the riverbanks at several popular access locations along the Sacramento River in Redding.
What to Bring:
• Protective gloves
• Comfortable work clothes
• Good footwear for navigating rocks, brush, and water along the river corridor
• Sun protection
• Plenty of water to stay hydrated
After the Cleanup: Join us at Fall River Brewery to enjoy a well-earned refreshment and great company with fellow volunteers!
