Little River Cleanup Family Event
Details
Bring the family, and join us for this annual event hosted by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Fisheries and plan to stay for the cookout after.
We need at least 20 volunteers for this fun, family-friendly event. After the clean-up, weather permitting, LRCTU will fire up the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs. We’ll provide the condiments, chips, drinks, and volunteers are welcome to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share.
Event Details
Meet: Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Our clean-up will focus on the Elkmont area and possibly Tremont, away from the busier sections of Little River Road. Transportation will be provided from Metcalf Bottoms to the clean-up sites and back in time for the cookout.
LRCTU Will Provide
- Gloves
- Trash grabbers
- Trash bags
- Safety vests
- Bottled water
- Transportation
If you already have a safety vest, please bring it with you.
What to Wear and Bring
Waders are not required. Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes, and bring any personal items you may need, such as bug spray, sunscreen, or rain gear.
