Special guests at this meeting are Matt Kulp, GRSM Supervisory Fishery Biologist, Dr. Nadya Mamoozadeh, and Jim Habera, TWRA Region IV Fisheries Division Program Manager. LRCTU will present them with a check in the amount of $27,077, which will partially fund a grant to evaluate the effectiveness of brook trout translocation in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GRSM) and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) managed streams. This funding was made available through the Tennessee TU Council Conservation Grant Program.
Also, this month's scheduled speaker is Charity Rutter. Charity Rutter is the new Appalachian Region Outreach Coordinator for Freshwaters Illustrated. She will be talking about their new educational programs and outreach for classrooms of all ages.
Social hour starts at 6:00, program starts at 7:00, business meeting follows.
