KVCTU Damsels Fly 2026

Damsles Fly Fishing Program – Women Only
May 9 – 9-5pm.
Kalamazoo Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited (KVCTU) will be hosting Damsels Fly, a fly
fishing class for women who are new to the sport on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The all-day
course will be held at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery Visitor Center in Mattawan. We’ll provide
instruction in casting, gear, knots, fly tying, etiquette, bugs, safety, finding and reading
the water, protecting our resources, and the TU mission. The class will be informative
and fun, and hopefully give participants the confidence to get out on the water – and
maybe get involved in chapter activities. Our thanks to our DNR partners at Wolf Lake,
and to the many members helping.
This is a ONE day class and we will be on the water fishing by end of day.
We will have FREE follow up lessons and a chance to get on-the-water experience on
the Kalamazoo River in Battle Creek every month from MAY-SEPTEMBER, our Battle
Creek summer fishing program will enable you to continue building your fishing skills
and network of fishing people.
The cost is just $60, and includes light breakfast snacks, lunch, giveaways, and a fly rod
door prize to one lucky person! This will also include a 1year TU membership and
expert instruction by many of TU’s best teachers. No equipment is necessary.
