Project leader Notes: We need a minimum of 15 people to help stock 3000-Gila trout. volunteers will need to bring their own water, food, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. and will want to wear shoes and clothes appropriate for hiking. Light weight, loose fitting pants, and either hiking boots or tennis shoes are the best options. You may want to bring a small backpack or small cooler to strap to the top of their buckets (we will provide straps). Please be aware that this is HARD WORK! Packs will weigh 40-50lbs, or more depending on the personal gear you bring.
We'll be meeting at KP Cienega Campground the morning of October 27th, and get started at 8:30am. We will likely finish around 4 or 5pm.
To avoid having a long drive the morning of, volunteers may want to camp at KP Cienega Campground the night before (which is what some staff will be doing), or find nearby lodging. For those of you who choose to camp out with us, please keep in mind that it will be COLD at night, and be sure to keep an eye on the forecast to ensure that you are prepared.
