Joint Chapter Gathering GBTU and Nor'East TU at Malden Anglers

GBTU and the Nor'East TU Chapters are holding a joint chapter meeting at Malden Anglers on May 16th, starting at 6pm.

Our guest speaker for the event is Geoffrey Day, executive Director of the Sea Run Brook Trout Coalition.  

Geoffrey will be speaking to what has been learned in nearly a half-century of sea-run brook trout habitat restoration in SE Massachusetts and how much of it applies to virtually any brook trout stream restoration project.

The meeting is free to attend and open to all, regardless of whether you are a TU member or not.

Food and beverages will be provided and a donation to cover the cost is recommended but optional. Please register for the event, so that we know how many people to expect.

Trout Unlimited recently rolled out their priority waters initiative and sea-run or salter brook trout streams of the Massachusetts coastline are the only priority waters in Massachusetts to the east of the Connecticut river.  This doesn’t mean that we will reduce our focus on other streams in the state, but we should look for streams where dam removals create new opportunities for sea-run brook trout.   You can learn more about the TU priority waters in Massachusetts here.
