JOIN US AT OUT NOVEMBER EJTU CHAPTER MEETING - NON-MEMBERS WELCOME

Out monthly chapter meetings are the second Wednesday each month. It starts at 700 pm with socializing, coffee and munchies. The meeting starts at 730 pm with announcement of chapter trips or other events followed by a speaker.

 

John Shaner will be returning as our guest speaker during our November EJTU meeting.  Many members are already familiar with John, but for those that are not, he lives in Deposit, NY and the West Branch of the Delaware River is his home water.  The West Branch is a freestone tailwater river with year-round cold water flowing from the Cannonsville Reservoir in Deposit, NY downstream to the Delaware River.  The river is known for its wild brown trout and rainbow trout and it is not uncommon to see fish in the 20” range.  However, the trout there are considered to be very educated and difficult to catch due to heavy fishing pressure.   John's presentation will cover off-water preparation plus on-water awareness and tactics that can be applied to the fly fishing the West Branch more effectively and his recommendations could be applied to all waters and help improve one’s odds against selective trout.
