We're back after a 4 year hiatus! The entire community is invited to come and experience a day of fun and education focusing on fishing and cold-water environmental conservation.
This event is free, although donations are appreciated. All proceeds raised benefit the youth-oriented environmental education activities of our local Trout Unlimited Chapter, which include the exciting Trout in the Classroom program that is currently in eighteen schools within six local school districts.
Programs planned throughout the day include: hands-on activities with one of our Trout in the Classroom fish tanks; a demonstration aquarium featuring live, locally collected aquatic insect specimens; free fly-casting and fly-tying instruction; and the opportunity to learn fishing and fly tying tips from masters from around the region.
Some of our exhibitors and vendors include: US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Tompkins County Soil and Water Conservation District, Twin Tiers Five Rivers Chapter of FFi, Discover Cayuga Lake/Trout in the Classroom, Cayuga Nature Center, and our own Stream Insect tank. Mike Hogue and Badger Creek Fly Tying, Colin Nash and Nash Fly Works, and Eric Mastroberti and Streamflow Design are also confirmed at this time.
Stay tuned for more details!
