Invitation to Cape Cod Trout Unlimited April 8, 2026, Presentation--Fly Fishing in Vermont presented by Mike Valla

The Green Mountain State is home to some of the best flyfishing in the country, yet most traveling anglers focus on a few of the more famous streams.  In his latest book, Fly Fishing Guide to Vermont, Mike Valla shares detailed information on the lesser-known streams and still waters --where to go, what flies to use, and advice from local experts. In his presentation to us, Mike will share highlights from his book. Species covered include trout, salmon and smallmouth bass (Lake Champlain).

Mike Valla was inducted into the Fly-Fishing Hall of Fame in 2024.  He is the author of ten books including The Founding Flies, Tying and Fishing Bucktails and Other Hair Wings, and Favorite Flies for the Catskills. He is a frequent contributor to American Fly Fishing Magazine and has published articles in Fly Fisherman, Fly Tyer and American Fly Fisher.  Mike has been fly fishing for over fifty years, and lives in Cambridge New York, just a few miles from Vermont.
