Introductory Fly Tying Classes

For over twenty years our Chapter has held this introductory fly tying class. This has been one of our main fund raising efforts. We are able to offer this class in large part due to the contributions from Littler River Outfitters in Townsend, TN. In this class you will learn to tie nine patterns picked for our Clinch River tail water. Each participant will tie (6) six of each of the nine patterns for a total of (54) fifty-four flies! The classes will begin on Saturday, January 10, 2026 and continue each following Saturday through February 28th. Classes will be held in the Norris Community  Building in Norris, TN 37828 at 20 Chestnut Rd. starting at 9:00 am and  lasting  til 12:00 pm. Classes will run for (8) eight weeks. You will learn skills using many different materials and techniques and gain a very good foundation to start your fly tying journey. We furnish all materials along with a tying manual for you to keep. If you need equipment, we can loan you everything you will need for the duration of the class. We use Renzetti tying vises. The cost per person is $135.00, 100% of which goes toward Chapter sponsored events. Please see our website at www.crctu.org for more information.
