Intro to Fly Tying with Kalamazoo Valley Trout Unlimited

Kalamazoo Valley Trout Unlimited (KVCTU) is continuing its Intro to Fly Tying series this fall, following a lots of interest last winter. These monthly sessions are specifically designed for brand-new and novice fly tiers —those just getting started with the craft. If you’re an experienced tyer, please note that this program is not intended for advanced or seasoned participants, but rather as an entry point for those looking to learn the fundamentals in a supportive, beginner-focused environment. Sessions will be held at Uncle Jake’s Fly Shop (1408 Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49037), beginning Thursday, October 2, and continuing on the first Thursday of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

This is a formal, no-cost class, and all materials and tools are provided. Space is limited to 12 participants per session, so advance registration is required via the signup link. Each session covers essential techniques and seasonal fly patterns while offering a chance to connect with others new to the sport. If you're curious about fly tying and want a place to start, this is the perfect opportunity to dive in.
