Please join us on November 14th at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association building at 540 Oregon Road in Meriden for fly tying and some good fellowship! We'll have pizza at 6:30 (BYOB). A short business meeting/program updates, and raffle will also happen, as usual. We will be tying three flies, the Goldie, the Golden Retriever, and the Partridge & Peacock. Materials will be supplied for all three. Bring your vise, tools, and a bobbin loaded with fire orange 3/0 thread (or whatever fire orange thread you have.) Also bring 6/0 black or tan and any red thread you have (flat waxed nylon works well.)
These flies have produced many species of fish. The Goldie can be tied for both fresh and salt water. The Golden Retriever is especially popular for Trout, Smallmouth, and Landlocked Salmon in Maine. The Partridge & Peacock is a classic "soft hackle" Trout fly.

The Hammonasset Chapter meets each month from September through May at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association building at 540 Oregon Road in Meriden. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month. The doors open at 6:15pm. The monthly programs start at 7pm. Each meeting features special programming related to fly fishing in and around Connecticut. Sometimes guides share knowledge of local rivers and at other times state officials will come speak about hatchery, conservation or other water & fly fishing related themes. In addition we talk about current fishing conditions, hold a raffle and of course socialize. Directions to the QRWA Headquarters
