This survey is part of US Forest Service’s habitat assessment protocol. Volunteers spend time traveling up local streams, marking trees and limbs in the water that help create better fish habitat. Historically, more of this material would have been in our waterways but historic logging practices have reduced this important habitat component. Information from this program will help identify future projects for TU and partners to create better streams for native and wild trout.
We will meet at the gravel pull off on 321 just before Little Stony Creek Rd (36.31190, -82.072840).
