Guest Presentation - John van Vliet

We have invited John van Vliet to Kansas City to provide anglers an explanation of fly fishing within the Driftless Area of the United States. The Driftless is a region that was untouched by the glacial drift of the last Ice Age. It includes sections of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. 

 

van Vliet has written guidebooks for 3 of the 4 states (Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) to help visitors get a better idea of what waters are available to them and how to get there, fly patterns that work well, and hatch charts of the bugs you can find in the area. Each of these books contain QR codes next to each stream map that integrate with the TroutRoutes app and provide real-time information on the water and access.
