GBTU March Chapter Gathering with guest speaker Cynthia Harkness

Join fellow GBTU members and friends at the Orvis store in Wellesley for our annual business meeting and elections of GBTU board and officers along with our chapter gathering.   We will also announce the winner of our Bamboo Fly Rod Sweepstakes.

Fly fishing has long been considered a male-dominated sport, but in recent years, women have been breaking down barriers and embracing this outdoor pursuit with passion. Join Cynthia Harkness, owner of Fearless Fly Fishing, for a special presentation about women in fly fishing.

Cynthia always begins her meetings with the last place she has fished and the next place that she is going to.   Cynthia will provide an exciting overview of all 2024 adventures for women, and some fun co-ed ones as well. Then, get ready for a fun look at Ladies Striper Camp returning for its 6th season.  Cape Cod stripers on the fly have always been the highlight for anglers looking to get a great hit while enjoying the beauty of the Cape. Cynthia will share her experiences as a Brewster Flats guide and how the introduction to Saltwater fly fishing classes are set up.  She will also review the Women’s TU Boston Class from 2023, and feature some on-hand casting exercises. Cynthia will share stories along the way with a slide show for all to enjoy.

The meeting is free to attend and open to all, regardless of whether you are a GBTU member or not. Food and beverages will be provided and a donation to cover the cost is recommended but optional. Please register for the event, so that we know how many people to expect.
