GBTU Group Steelhead Fly Fishing Trip - Nov 2026

Join fellow Greater Boston Trout Unlimited members for an unforgettable trip to Steelhead Alley in November 2026, targeting Lake Erie tributaries during peak steelhead season. We’ll be staying and fishing with Captain Kurt Charters in Conneaut, Ohio, with daily guided access to some of the region’s best steelhead waters.

Lodging
Participants will stay in one of two Captain Kurt Charters accommodations: The Lodge or The Cottage, both located in Conneaut, OH.

Fishing Locations
We’ll have access to a wide range of fishing options, including private water. Each day, guides will select the best locations based on current conditions. Our base puts us within easy reach of many top Pennsylvania and Ohio steelhead streams, including:

• Elk Creek – approximately 15 minutes

• Walnut Creek – approximately 30 minutes

• Twenty Mile Creek – approximately 1 hour

From the lodge, we can also walk to Conneaut Creek. Additional nearby Ohio options include:

• Ashtabula River – 15 minutes

• Grand River – 30 minutes

• Chagrin River – 1 hour

Angler Experience Level
This trip is intended for experienced fly anglers, though no prior steelhead fishing experience is required. Participants must be comfortable wading and spending full days fishing in cold weather conditions.

Group Size & Cost
The trip is limited to 8 anglers total. Lodging includes 7 private rooms and 1 shared room for two anglers willing to share.

• $1,800 per person – private room

• $1,650 per person – shared room

Guide gratuities are not included. The typical tip ranges from $100–$200 per day, per guide.

What’s Included

• 4 nights of lodging (check-in Nov. 1 / check-out Nov. 5)

• 3 full days of guided fly fishing (Nov. 2–4)

• 1 guide per 2 anglers

• All meals

• All rods and flies

• All stream fees (including private water access)

• Lodging cleaning fees

Waders and boots are available for an additional $50 per day.

Reservations & Payment
Reservations may be made at no cost initially. A 50% deposit payable to GBTU is required within two weeks to secure your spot. Once you reserve, we’ll contact you with payment details.

• Credit card payments will include processing fees

• Remaining balance is due to Captain Kurt Charters at check-out
