GBTU Fall Camping & Fishing Weekend
Join Greater Boston Trout Unlimited for a free laid-back weekend of tent camping, fishing, hiking, and fellowship in the heart of western Massachusetts trout country. We’ll be gathering at the Mohawk Trail State Forest group campsite for an informal campout where members can spend time trout fishing, explore local hiking trails, take in waterfalls, or simply relax around the campfire with fellow anglers and outdoor enthusiasts.
There is no formal agenda—just a chance to enjoy the outdoors and connect with other chapter members in one of Massachusetts’ most scenic areas on a prime autumn weekend. If you plan to fish, there is excellent trout fishing in the park on the Cold River and many excellent fishing options nearby. In conjunction with this camping weekend, GBTU has organized an optional paid river float trip with Harrison Anglers for GBTU on a nearby river. See details and make reservations here.
Come stay for a night or the entire weekend. The campsite will be available from Friday, Sept 25 at 2 p.m. to Sunday, Sept 27 at 10 a.m. This trip is open to GBTU chapter members and their guests. This event is free but an optional donation of $20 to support GBTU’s ongoing coldwater conservation efforts is appreciated. GBTU is not providing camping equipment or food. No children. Space is limited and only one vehicle will be allowed per group. Registration is required.
