GBTU Chapter Gathering at Concord Outfitters - Guest Speaker Kyle Schaefer

Join GBTU members and supporters at Concord Outfitters for a presentation on Striped Bass Conservation by Capt. Kyle Schaefer.  Kyle is a fly fishing guide, lodge owner, writer, conservationist, and entrepreneur.

Owner of Soul Fly Outfitters and co-owner & founder of Soul Fly Lodge, Kyle splits his time between guided striped bass on the fly in Southern Maine, consulting for ASGA and running his lodge in Berry Islands, Bahamas.  Kyle is also in the midst of opening a new lodge in eastern Canada where he spends part of his summers.  

For Kyle, guiding and fishing is just the tip of the iceberg. Conservation and environmental advocacy is the foundation that our sport is built upon; this important work will help protect our wild places and wild fish. Kyle is a proud board member & consultant for the American Saltwater Guide’s Association. Kyle has visited our nation’s capital to lobby for better fisheries management, testified in front of the senate budget committee and has worked with various organizations to improve state & federal fisheries management. Kyle helped spearhead the “Stripers In Our Hands” project which focuses on proper striped bass handling to reduce the catch & release mortality.

The event is free to attend and open to all, regardless of whether you are a Trout Unlimited member or not. Food and beverages will be provided and a donation to cover the cost is recommended but optional.
