GBTU Beginner Streamer Fly Tying Workshop and Assabet River Introduction

Join us for a fun and informative "Beginner Streamer Fly Tying Workshop" where you'll learn the art of crafting effective streamer flies that will entice trophy fish to strike. Whether you're new to fly tying or looking to improve your skills, this workshop is perfect for you! After a morning of tying flies participants will meet at the nearby Assabet River to put their new creations to use. The instructor will show participants parking and best access points for fly fishing the Assabet River. The instructor will demonstrate tips and techniques for making your streamer flies attractive to fish. This includes things like understanding color, size, and action. This is not a “guided” fishing trip and after getting set-up at the river, the instructor will leave participants to explore and fish the river for as long as they like.

Workshop Highlights:

Hands-On Tying: Get hands-on experience from a Concord Outfitters expert instructor who will guide you through the step-by-step process of tying an effective streamer pattern like the tried and true woolly bugger. You'll create your own woolly bugger flies at the workshop.

Pattern Selection: Learn about popular streamer fly patterns and how to choose the right one for various fishing conditions and target species.

Q&A Session: Ask questions and seek personalized advice from our experienced instructor. We're here to address your specific concerns and help you become a better fly tier.

Take-Home Flies: Participants leave the workshop with the streamer fly(s) they've tied, ready to use on the Assabet and beyond.

On the water experience: Participants will be introduced to streamer fishing the Assabet River just minutes from the shop.
