The March meetup of the Gary Borger TU Chapter will be on Thursday March 12 from 6-8:30pm at The Italian Kitchen - 648 Deerfield Road, Deerfield, IL 60015
We are pleased to announce that at our Chapter meet-up on Thursday, March 12, we will host a presentation from American Rivers’ Great Lakes Regional Director, Elizabeth Riggs, along with her colleague Tony Grundhauser, Director of Philanthropy. Elizabeth and Tony will present their organizational priorities nationally and, importantly, their vision for work in the Great Lakes states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
American Rivers is a nonprofit organization founded in 1973 with the mission to safeguard 4.4 million miles of streams and rivers essential to our nation’s clean drinking water, extraordinary wildlife, and the strength of our communities. Originally established to advocate for the protection of rivers through the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968, today, American Rivers has programs designed to protect our rivers and streams as “Wild and Scenic” and other designations, and restore impacted waters by removing barriers, reconnecting floodplains, and ensuring access to clean water.
