There are many simple fly patterns – many of them originating from Maine – that have stood the test of time as some of the most effective for catching Eastern Brook Trout. Ray Minchak, Merrymeeting Bay Chapter volunteer, has been tying fresh and saltwater patterns for the past 25 years and is always curious about the historic and contemporary patterns out there and testing and tinkering with them on his home waters. Join Ray for two fun, interactive and informative sessions on Friday and Saturday at 1:30 p.m. each day as he demonstrates and talks about the art of tying. Tyers of all ages are welcome and will walk away with a greater appreciation of the history of many of their favorite patterns, the ability to try them out on their vise at home and the knowledge too do their own exploring and experimenting with feather and fur.
