Fly Fishing Outing with SWMTU- White River

Join Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited for some fun on the White River!

What better way to enjoy our local watersheds and make new fishing buddies than going fly fishing? No matter your skill level, join SWMTU for a laid-back day on the water followed by a social outing at a local restaurant.

We will have mentors available to help beginner anglers with the basics, including casting techniques, fly selection, knot tying, reading the water, and wading safety. Please let us know if you need to borrow a fly rod, as we will have some available. These events are kid-friendly, but we recommend ages 8+ for the best experience.

Location: White River (Exact location TBA closer to event)
Fish species: Trout and steelhead
Socialize: Gathering at a local restaurant (TBA) starting around 8:00pm

What to bring: Final instructions will be sent to registered participants. Please be sure to bring your gear, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Gear tips: We recommend bringing a 5/6wt for trout or a 7/8wt for steelhead. Limited trout fly rod outfits available for use. Waders highly recommended.
