The Fly Fishing Film Tour will be making a stop in Quincy on Wednesday April 1, sponsored by
the Feather River chapter of Trout Unlimited (FRTU) the Feather River College Fly Fishing
Club, and the Feather River College Foundation, in partnership with Plumas Arts. The showing
will be at the Quincy Town Hall Theater, starting at 6:30 PM. Doors open at 6:00. Nine short
films are included, highlighting fishing around the world for species ranging from trout and
salmon, to rooster fish, to mako shark. Tickets will be $10, free for students; available in advance
from Plumas Arts or at the door. Moviegoers can also participate in a raffle for a fly rod and
other gear.
Proceeds will benefit the FRC Fly Fishing Club and the Trout in the Classroom program. The
FRC club is new this year and offers students a chance to learn to fly fish in the sparkling waters
of Plumas County and nearby areas. Through Trout in the Classroom, FRTU and the California
Department of Fish and Wildlife provides aquarium and trout eggs for students to raise, learning
about trout biology and habitat.
