Fly-Cast Painting: Join Artist Ben Miller Along the Mississippi River - A CX3 Twin Cities Event

Ben Miller, the Montana-based artist whose Fly-Cast Paintings have brought rivers to international attention, will be a featured artist at CX3 Twin Cities— Trout Unlimited's largest national gathering.

 

On Friday, September 25th, Miller will set up beside the Mississippi River and paint it live — fly casting paint from a fly rod onto a four-by-five-foot sheet of plexiglass, using the same physical method he has developed over decades of standing in rivers across the American West. The finished painting will be revealed that evening at a special presentation, where videos of Miller's major projects will be screened and Miller himself will be available for conversation with 
attendees.

On Saturday, at the annual CX3 banquet, the Mississippi River painting produced on Friday will be presented for sale. A share of proceeds from the sale will go directly to river conservation organizations, continuing Miller's longstanding commitment to channeling his artistic practice into tangible support for the rivers he paints
