We have secured the weekend of January 17-18, 2026, for our first fish outing of the year on the Yuba River. The area we will be fishing is on property owned by UC Davis and is north of the highway 20 bridge. Trout and the occasional steelhead are the targeted species, so you will need a California fishing license and a steelhead card. The fee per day will be $20 per fisher. Payments will be collected at the event.

Fishing time is 8:30am-5pm. There are bathroom facilities. This event may be rescheduled for high flows due to safety concerns. UC Davis has the final say as to whether or not it is safe to fish given the water levels. We have 20 fishing spots per day available. Please indicate in your request for reservation which day or days you would like to fish and how many fishers will be in your party.  

New for this year is the opportunity to camp at the site. We will have access to the site starting at 4pm on Friday, March 21. There is a parking lot, but no established tent sites. There is a toilet. Self-contained camping rigs are ideal, and you will need to bring your own water. Camping will be allowed Friday and Saturday nights only.   The additional cost for camping is $500 for the weekend, so a significant cost to campers. For example: 10 overnight campers would be $50 each night. If there are not enough campers to offset the additional cost, you will be notified to make other arrangements. If you wish to camp on site, please include that desire with your fishing request.  You will receive a timely response to your request. Final instructions for reserved fishing spots will be distributed a week before the event.
