Local striper fishing has been hot! Join us Friday, May 14th at Penfield Reef in Fairfield for a fun, casual afternoon of fishing and learning how to get on this great bite safely. Link up with knowledgable TU volunteers who know the water and can teach you the right tides and techniques for success at this great local spot. Fishing Friday's are a fun, casual event for anglers of all ages and skill levels. Families and beginners welcome, if you don't have a saltwater fly rod, no problem! Let us know because we have a limited number of saltwater rods available for you to use!
Because parking on Reef Road can be busy, we will meet at Veterans Park (909 Reef Road, Fairfield) at 4:30 PM and walk down to the beach. Definitely bring waders, and I would recommend 7-9wt rods and a mix of deceivers and clouser minnows in colors white and chartreuse.
