Join us on Wednesday, April 15th to help us with tree delivery and planting layout at the Finch Flood Plain in Stamford!
We'll get started at the Buckingham Drive Access at 9 am - bring a wheel barrow if you have one!
Over the past month, Mianus TU volunteers and partners have been hard at work removing non-native species to prepare the site for tree planting events on April 18 and 25. Restoration of the Finch Flood Plain presents a fantastic opportunity to create a robust community forest near downtown Stamford, help filter and reduce storm water runoff and add important habitat for fish and all kids of different wildlife.
Funding provided by the USDA, Forest Service administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and supported by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
