Join Trout Unlimited to learn about Environmental DNA technology and participate and an exciting community science project to identify unknown trout populations right in our backyard!
This project, funded by Trout Unlimited's Embrace a Stream program, will help us collect critical data on streams and rivers that have not been formally assessed in decades, or ever assessed at all. This information will help us prioritize future habitat restoration projects like barrier removal, and advocate for enhanced regulatory protections on cold water streams.
We'll get started at the Park and Fields at Old Mill Road at 10 am on November 22nd with an overview of the project's goals, familiarize everyone with the equipment we'll be using, then splitting off into small teams to survey different parts of the Norwalk River Watershed and other area streams.
