Doe River Clean-up
Roan Mountain State Park is working to restore the visitor center area after the river floods. The floods left a great deal of refuse in along the river banks and throughout the shores of the Doe River. On Friday, October 18th from 10am-1pm, Park Ranger Marco Rodriguez is looking for up to 30 volunteers to aid with the cleanup of the Doe River shores around the visitor center to be enjoyed by park guests and fisherman alike!
Volunteers will meet at the visitor center parking lot where they will meet their host, Ranger Marco Rodriguez. The park will provide trash bags, gloves, and water to all volunteers but we ask everyone to bring any snacks they may need, good hiking shoes, and, if available, any waders/water wading clothes up to waist deep at most.
