Josh Stafford - Fisheries Biologist Georgia DNR
Josh is originally from upstate New York but has lived in and worked with natural resources in eight different states. He has always pursued his passion for the outdoors via backpacking, trail running, fly fishing, spearfishing, and camping. Josh received his Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from Montreat College which is a small school just east of Asheville, NC. After graduating he worked several seasonal jobs ranging from trapping weasels in the Adirondack Mountains of New York to monitoring wild trout populations in the Sierra Mountains of California. Josh recently graduated from Mississippi State University with his Masters where he studied the movements of the invasive silver carp. Now he is a fisheries biologist for GA DNR based out of Gainesville and manages Lanier, Nottley, Chatuge, and a large portion of the Chattahoochee River.
