CCTU Embrace A Stream - Give Where You Fish

This Fall, CCTU was awarded an Embrace-A-Stream (EAS) grant from TU National in the amount of $5000.  This year's funds will be used to support and promote the restoration of Fresh Brook, an important stream in Wellfleet, MA with historic connections to sea-run brook trout, also known as salters.  This is an incredible opportunity to restore salter brook trout to their historic range, into a stream at one point famous for producing "baskets" of two pound plus trout in the early 1900s, when New York sportsmen would come and fish Fresh Brook. 

 

The EAS program gives us the opportunity to raise additional funds through matching contributions by TU national.   Donations for Fresh Brook between Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 will give us the chance to exponentially increase our impact!  This is an 8 Day event intended for members, friends and supporters to help CCTU bring back Fresh Brook.   The funds would cover back end archeological work, which must be done under state law before any construction takes place, and a follow-up review of the formally submerged stream bank. 

 

Our goal is to turn the $5,000 EAS award into $20,000.
