Care for and Enjoy Michigan's Ogontz River!
Join us for a fun morning to care for, explore, and enjoy the beautiful Ogontz River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula!
Work alongside local community experts and volunteers to plant trees along the Ogontz River, remove harmful invasive species, discover and learn about stream insects, and enjoy a beautiful morning well spent outdoors.
This community volunteer effort will complement restoration work on the Ogontz River completed last fall to restore brook trout spawning grounds, and your help will further restore and improve this stretch of important coldwater habitat.
Planting tools and supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring gloves or extra tools if you wish. The site is easily accessible and appropriate for all ages. We recommend that participants bring bug spray, sturdy shoes or muck boots, and water.
This event is family-friendly and all are welcome!
