Buzz Buffington Youth Fly Fishing 101

We are taking our Kids Fish Free Day and focusing on more than just fishing. Our goal is to teach our area youth the basics of fly fishing. We will cover the following: equipment and how to rig your fly rod, knots you'll need and how to tie them, aquatic insects their life cycle and importance to the river, casting fundamentals and hands on practice and wading safety. We will break up into two groups with each group moving through each station and into the river to put what they have learned to use. Lunch will be served as well.
